Unlike our SABRE SYSTEMS DUTY series, the DUTY RDC (Red Dot Cover) series has a molding that covers the Red Dot against impact and damage. The Red Dot is covered from both sides, from the front, and from above. Logically, it is not covered from the back, due to pulling it out of the holster.  

We make it in a size for Aimpoint ACRO, so any Red Dot of ACRO dimensions and smaller will fit.

The SABRE SYSTEMS DUTY RDC (Red Dot Cover) line is built primarily for duty and high-demand use by police, military, and municipal police, and anywhere you want your firearm better secured against loss or a weapon grab. That's why SABRE SYSTEMS DUTY and DUTY RDC holsters are fitted with a Level 2 retention lock. The first level is the holster's own retention point and screw tension; the second is a mechanical lock that must be released before drawing the weapon.

Features

• We chose not to use the well-known Blade-Tech WRS lock, which requires "bending" to release, often needs sanding/tuning for optimal operation, and puts stress on the holster's construction. Our DUTY line duty holsters are fitted with SpeedLock locks by the American brand SpetzGear — press the pivoting lever/button with your thumb and the lock releases. There's no resistance to overcome like with Blade-Tech, the action is smooth, and release is precise and fast. If you'd still prefer a Blade-Tech WRS lock, note it in your order comments and we'll fit it instead — screw spacing and price stay the same.
• A mounting hole pattern on the back compatible with a wide range of branded accessories: Safariland QLS, Mid-Ride / Low-Ride platforms, MOLLE platforms, belt loops, or Blackhawk!'s CQC / SERPA carriers and other mounting hardware, G-CODE's RTI system (RTI 39 hanger only), or the widely-used, universal Tek-Lok by Blade-Tech. The holster ships without a mounting system by default; one can be purchased separately as an accessory.
• Compatible with standard and extended controls, such as the slide stop and magazine release button.
• Cut for a red dot sight from the ground up, whether the firearm came optics-ready from the factory or was milled/adapted afterward. Also compatible with tall (suppressor-height) sights.
• A flared opening for more intuitive holstering.
• Adjustable retention screws and a pronounced retention point. Minimal friction surfaces, especially along the sides of the slide, which helps protect the firearm's finish. The pistol locks in with a clear, audible "click" behind the trigger guard once fully seated (on models without a weapon light), and draws back out just as smoothly once the retention point is overcome.

Compatibility

• If the Parameters section below lists the construction as open-bottom, the holster is open at the bottom — in an emergency, a longer model from the same family will still fit (e.g. a longer Glock 17 in a holster made for the shorter Glock 19), with the extra length protruding from the holster. If the construction is closed-bottom, the holster closes behind the slide, and a firearm longer than the one it's configured for (e.g. fitted with a compensator or a longer barrel) will not seat fully — the holster must not be used with such a firearm, since it won't be properly retained and the trigger won't be fully covered.
• NOTE: this holster is designed for the specified firearm model only, or for the specified firearm-plus-weapon-light combination. A different firearm model, or the firearm fitted with a light, will not fit the holster, or will not be adequately retained in it.

Adjusting Retention

1. Adjust the holster's cant and retention screws as needed.
2. On firearms without a weapon light, fine-tune retention with the screw in front of the trigger guard. On a firearm with a weapon light, the retention point and lock sit on the light's body, depending on its type and model.
3. Once cant and retention are set, secure the screws against loosening with a suitable thread-locking compound (e.g. Loctite).

Maintenance & Safety

• Safety warning: always follow safe firearm handling practices. Keep loose clothing or gear away from the holster while reholstering. If caught between the holster and the trigger, it can cause an unintentional discharge and endanger life.
• If dirty, rinse the holster inside and out with running water and dry with a cloth. Do not use solvents or harsh cleaning agents.
• Do not expose the holster to temperatures above 60 °C (140 °F).
• Before each use, check that all screws are tight and make sure there's no obstruction or foreign object inside the holster.

Do you make this holster for left-handed shooters too?

Yes — we manufacture this holster in separate right-hand and left-hand versions.

How does the Level 2 SpeedLock retention work?

The holster combines a retention point and screw tension (first level) with a mechanical SpeedLock lock (second level) — before drawing, press the pivoting lever with your thumb and the lock releases, with no resistance to overcome.

Can I get a Blade-Tech WRS lock instead of SpeedLock?

Yes, on request — note it in your order comments. Screw spacing and price stay the same.

Can I fit a different or longer firearm in this holster?

It depends on the holster's construction (see the Additional Parameters table below). With open-bottom construction, a longer model from the same family will fit in an emergency, with the extra length protruding. With closed-bottom construction, the holster must not be used with any firearm other than the one specified.

Is this holster compatible with a red dot sight?

Yes, every SABRE SYSTEMS holster is cut for a red dot sight from the factory, whether the firearm came optics-ready or was adapted afterward.

Does it come with a mounting system (Safariland, MOLLE, Tek-Lok...)?

No, the holster ships without a mounting system. One can be purchased separately as an optional accessory.
